On the night of Friday 13th November 2015 most of the metal was stolen from our roof. Water poured in when it rained on early Saturday morning. Although we managed to get tarpaulins up fairly quickly we were not fast enough to prevent all water damage to the interior.
The immediate plan is to make the building as water tight as possible while we while we raise the funds to pay for a proper repair. As the Church is a Grade 1 listed building of historic importance, Heritage England will have a big say in what we can do.
Although we are insured we estimate we will still need to find an estimated £65,000 to pay for the repairs. With only 32 people in the Parish we only stand a chance of raising this sum if we are helped by all the friends of St Mary's from around the world.
We would be very grateful of any help you can give us to reach this target. You can donate using any of the methods below. Thanks for anything you can do.
By cheque made out to 'PCC Fawsley' and posted to 'Roof Appeal, Lakes Rise, Fawsley, NN11 3BA'. If you are a UK taxpayer and can send us a completed gift aid form too that would be much appreciated.
